Tesco iPhone - what upgrade options exist?

Have any members found out what upgrades Tesco iPhone contract customers can receive, as their iPhone deals are now a year old?

I know your local store cannot offer you an upgrade, they will setup a new contract for you and transfer your number to your new phone. They can possibly do something over the phone for you, but Im not sure

I wish to upgrade to an iphone 4 early. My contract runs out in april. Could I not just purchase one at the 'handset price' now and simply keep that until april and 'trade in' my iphone 3gs?

Yes it's what I do every year. I also don't take out iPhone insurance, instead I get it covered on my home insurance.
