Hiyas, been seeing a lot of new words recently, so please, help me out a little

    What is

    D-ila

    Lcos

I know they are projector formats but how do they work?

Also, what is SDI, from what I can gather, it seems to be a digital visual input like DVI... hmm...

and one more thing, I use a VGA 15pin to 5BNC into my 801s, what is the term for this kind of cable, is it component VGA? and how long can I extend it for without singal loss?

    thanks

    Mickeh

okay, so it seems that D-Ila and Lcos are the same thing..

D-ILA is a type of LCD panel which are light reflecting devices sometimes referred to as LCoS displays (Liquid Crystal on Silicon). JVC is the only one to my knowledge which is actually delivering on this technology.

The major advantage I have seen are better resolution (1365x1024) and less pixelization or screen door effect.

Yeah, D-ILA is JVC's proprietary name for its implementation of LCOS. JVC were so far the only people marketing the technology. But now there is a very interesting

    Hitachi .

For me, the the performance of the D'Ila at The EVENT was a disappointment.

For those who know, Milori at AVS forums, offered to send me a copy of Dilard to calibrate the G10 we had. Unfortunately this was just a day or two before the date and it couldn't happen.

D'ila appeals to me because of the very small gap between each pixel, it's high resolution panels and its light output and conrast capabilities. I hate the noise from current units. I've not seen one calibrated but I think it has potential for greatness.
