Off to see this on Tuesday with my dad, he loved the trailer in 3d when we went to see Jurassic world, not so much interested in the content per se, really looking forward to the 3d though as it looked amazing

      User review submitted.

Good point @Casimir Harlow about the X Men: DOFP comparison. Another reviewer said something similar; that Bryan Singer's excellent movie 'fixed' a bad one with his time travel ret-con; whilst Alan Taylor has done the opposite: ruining two good films with a useless one!

I thought the film started strong and was fun- right up until the end of the T-1000 scenes (after which the plot dissolves into a puddle of liquid logic).

Worth noting there is a post credits scene.

Pedantry: It's an endoskeleton, not an an exoskeleton. A giant Terminator crab could be fun though.

Also more pedantry, should it not be a T-800, i know its full designation is Terminator T-800 Cyberdyne Systems Model 101. But to be fair i have seen it referred to as both.

Thanks for the review. So much to like about this film and so much to hate.

No one seems to have mentioned Connar calling Arnie 'Pops'. I cringed every time throughout the film. In Terminator 2 there was a real bond between John and Arnie despite Arnie having no emotions. Why couldn't they pull the same trick off here? Instead Arnie seems to have been given an emotion chip, ala Commander Data.

I went in trying not to compare this reboot to the original but its impossible not to when its in your face the entire film. Like others I thought it worked really well to begin with but after a while it was all just a little too much.

Thought on the whole it was pretty good.
A few scenes were just awful, anything that tried to convey emotion basically and the stronger the attempt, the worse the scene.
Arnie could have got a bit more pumped up, my old man's 67 and doesn't look as worn out.
They made him too human, should have cut down on the attempted senitment.
John connar was a good cast imo...surprisingly good.
The rest, awful and not enough screen time for the T-1000.

Still seeing Arnie in anything makes it good so I don't care.
Certainly far better than what all the critics are calling it.
A million times better than Salvation (not even a terminator film)

I'm sure my views are what most people thought, you aren't into being pseudo critics :)

It's good to hear people liking Jason Clarke's performance as he looked horribly miscast in the trailers. I liked him in Zero Dark Thirty.

saw this last night at my local Imax, good brainless fun and Arnie dialled in a great performance

only real let down for me was the reece (adult) actor he was a charisma free zone

well worth a big screen watch

      better than a (6) maybe a 7.2 :)
plenty of t1 and t2 references, it felt it borrowed a few elements from the TV show also.

Enjoyed J K Simmons character. The John Conner guy was crap casting. A few of the humor moments could have been droped. I hated them in t3.

Hope it makes enough $ not to kill the franchise off. It deserves more outings as there was more right than wrong this time around.

Oh, and why was Matt Smith in it? Hate it when your watching somthing and straight away you associate a character with another franchise.

I've always had the feeling that not watching any of these films after the second one was a good decision on my part.

Does he say "I'll be back" in this one?

Firstly, As always thank you for the review Cas.

Now onto my thoughts, I have not seen this, But....

Terminator reboot, Arnold, Emilia Clarke............Did I just die and go to heaven :D
Also I quite liked Salvation, So from comments I am expecting this to be at least an 8 for me!

Are any of you guys here fellow bodybuilders? As I find comments saying Arnold "could have got more pumped up" rather amusing, He is 70 and quite obviously not taking huge amounts of HGH and Test like Stallone!

Arnie is fine in it. Dont know why people would say that either.

And his 'young' body double is enormous!

I think I'd have been more forgiving if I hadn't seen the original on the big screen last week. That said, it wasn't the total cluster I'd been led to believe it was. I don't think Jurassic World was any better to be honest. It hasn't been a vintage year for summer event films. Age of Ultron want great either.

In my opinion: Mad Max> Ultron> Furious 7> Jurassic World> Genisys. So far. Interested to see what Ant Man and Rogue Nation can pull out of their hats, and to see if the F4 reboot will surprise us.

      Slacker!

The one you have seen is my joint-fave along with Fury Road. I know it's got it's problemos, but its also the most fun I've had so far. Flawed, schmawed.

Slacker nuthin'. If my local indie doesn't get it then I've got to trek to Poole or Weymouth, spunking up to £20 a time and a three hour round trip to see one movie. (Even if I did want to see F7 my leg was still knitting itself back together at that time.) Still, they'll be showing Jurassic World next week in town so that's something, I suppose.

      It's not really a criticism, it's a hope and a dream.
It just sounds like a criticism. :)

I would surprisingly put Genisys above all those films with only Ultron and Jurassic World even coming close. Went in with low expectations due to last 2 Terminator films but really enjoyed this new take on it. Would have preferred a 15 rating but accept why they went with the 12a. Definitely my film of 2015 so far, 8/10 .
