I've got a 15m 5 core video-grade cable that was installed in a new extension that we had built last year.

Now, I've only just gotten around to buying a projector so who could terminate this cable for me in the Glasgow area?

The cable will be going between a DV89 and a Screenplay 7200.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Drop me a PM and I'll put you in touch with my brother - he's pretty handy with a Soldering Iron and Crimp tool.

If you can have details of the cable you've installed that will be handy as it'll determine which connectors he uses.

    Best regards

    Joe

Joe: It's RGB communicatons 75ohm mini co-ax. Not sure what crimp plugs etc you'll need. Might want to call Ian to confirm they haven't changed to extron cable from RGB......

Best to get some one with canare crimping tools to sort to it - not a big fan of solder my self. Canare plugs are also excellent for termination.

Why ? We always use solder wher appropriate to make connections. The only time i'd freely use cripmed connections is in car audio installs.

I solder my connections, but there's no reason why you couldn't crimp and then silver solder just to be sure.

I think he was only using the Canare crimping equipment though.

Slightly off topic, but why are car installs crimped and not soldered?
