I know I can look in my bios for motherboard and chip tempratures but is ther some downloadable software (preferably free) for my Abit board like I got with my new Asus desktop board? Now I've got adjustable fans in my enermax psu and Zalmann cooler I want to turn them down as much as possible to reduce noice in my HTPC but am concerned about going to far.

What is a safe temp. for the cpu (Celeron 1.2 tualitin) its currently running at 40C with the fans on there slowest settings and power dvd, my bigger concern is with dscaler though.

In my bios the first temperature at which you can shut down is at 55C, so I would say you should be fine up to that. Having said that my Duron 1.1 is at 45 C, and that is in a small uATX case with restricted cooling, so if you are higher than that I might be a bit worried
