Got mine installed today and it is superb, used to have SKY + so can compare, The TV drive is 100% better than sky + not only for the 3 tuners but for once Telewest have got the menus right, seems like the menu system was just waiting for the TV Drive to come along, it is equally as quick now as the SKY EPG and has great functionality for the TVD.
and the HD content on Teleport life looks terrific even on a SD set.
and no more "Satellite signal not being received" messages.

I have heard that telwest cable boxes are woefully slow when going through the menus or changing channels etc.. is this still the case with the TV Drive or have they fixed this problem now.

Also does the TV Drive box crash much ?

Some people have suggested that SD via the HDMI connection is a fair bit better than via RGB. It would be interesting to here other peoples opinion on this.

Keep us posted then :smashin:

Particularly interested in responce times to the remote (no figures) just good or bad will do, does it take long to change channel etc, and how user friendly the menu system is. :)

I'd be really interested in this too.

I assume you select the output (720p) for the HDMI connection the box upscales the standard image to this?

We have an installation for next Wednesday and plan to use it with an AE700. Most channels at 80" look pretty average at the moment so an improvement would be very welcome!

I used it round friends house it lags its annoying even the old sky like grundig boxes dont lag like that also paying monthly fee for it will end up costing even if equipment is free.

Sky+ ends up being better deal you get more for the money

Sky + is only an option if you can have a dish, which I can't. So am stuck with Telewest, we cannot even have a different phone supplier!

Concenred by the slowness of the menu system, how does it compare to the standard telewest box, my TV drive is being installed next month, the earliest date was over six weeks away!!!!!

i do find the tvdrive very slow
channel changing is a mare lol

As my previous post, the menu system on my TVD is great easily as quick as my old pace SKY+ box, maybe there are local issues with bandwidth or similar, if it slows down I'll let you know.
