    Hi
Firstly, an apology as I know this subject has been covered before but cannot find the thread I read, despite a number of searches.

I have the Pace 4000 box for telewest. I was recommended this box on this site as it is one of the faster ones and works with my pronto (via Red-eye transmitter).

The problem with the box is that it just has a couple of scart sockets - no audio outs. I am using a Denon 3803 for the sound side but have to take the sound for the cable from the TV. This does not sound as good as it could and I am about to replace the TV with a projector so will not be able to do this.

On the sound side, please will someone explain how I can get the best efforts out of the cable box into the Denon 3803? I was wondering about a John Sim scart to component converter for the picture but I think that the Denon will do this conversion for me (is that right / is it as good?).

There must be a 'best' way to do this to maximise both sound and picture quality?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dak

I have a Pace 4000 and I use one of these,

    http://www.beyondhifi.net/shopping/moreinfo.asp?ProductID=280

plugged into my STB, and run a set of audio leads to my amp. Works a treat, except for the cruddy sound through Telewest Digital. Silk purse, sows ear and all that.

However this would be for sound only.

You can buy cheap thingys of this nature too, to try, but you could get someone to knock you up an RGB lead with audio breakout instead of wiring it to the scart pins. The more connectors it all goes through, the worse the end result.

Any idea where you can get one of these scarts with breakout audio connections?

Keene or lektropacks would be where I'd start.
