And Sony isn't doing anything to keep the third parties "loyal".i think microsoft just dont want to give people a reason to own a ps3 when the exact same titles will be available on thier system. the 360 hasnt got many exclsives so just take the other platforms games and stop them form having exclusives as well
It's no major surprise more franchises are going multiformat due to the spiralling development costs, and therefore the amount Sony / MS would have to pay the developer for exclusivity.
As for the comment above about fighters not doing that well on 360, well i think it's generic across platforms to be honest, and my guess as to why is because there's far more impetus on online multiplayer games nowadays, which don't suit the split second timing nature of beat em ups unless the code is 100%. In the old days of local multiplayer, beat em ups were perfect with people in the same room on the same machine... nothing better or more satisfying. When played online, especially with random opponents, it just isn't the same, hence less appeal imo.
I didn't expect that.
Tekken was one of those games that meant playstation to me.
This is bigger news for me than that crap ifnal fantasy.
All they need now is gran turismo
why have multple consoles? why not just have one standard console for next next gens? maybe sony and MS can work together and create one STANDARD console.Great for people that wanted it but don't have a PS3 I guess, its hardly a killer title for me though. Had they gone crazy and tied SF4 into an exclusive contract then that would have been a massive hit in the fighter genre for me, perhaps Microsoft don't have quite so much cash to flash as they've been accused of .
Very few games will be exclusive this generation now as others have said, the market for both HD consoles combined is needed for developers to get the maximum profit really. Very few multi platform titles could get multi million sales otherwise.
