:hiya: Hello every one. I have a TECHWOOD TWP 4205, I have had it now for 1 year and 8 months. I tried Turning it on the power comes on and the sound of the TV channel you can hear it turn to other channels but no picture. no display at all no nothing.I contacted mastercare. who I know will rip me off. and I asked if I could get it fixed. they said yes. call out fee £120 :thumbsdow but they said they would fix it for that amount flat fee. but if I have to pay for a spare part you have to pay the cost. so I said ok. and paid up. then they had it for a couple of days. and come back with a Estimate of £396 barring in mind I already paid £120 and barring in mind it was only an Estimate. and they said if they need to they can charge me more, with out my consent to get the job done. naturally I refused and got it back. Now what I want to know. where can I get a power board from because the engineer report says its a power board one of the panels in the back. I have had a look and it is made buy "Samsung"

Samsung PDP panel.

Model S42SD-YD06

Manufactured 15.07.03.

Thanks for your replies people, I will contact Samsung about the part I need, and see if they will sell it to me at least, because I know when mastercare purchase a part from there suppliers they add there 40% plus fees and I am sure I could get that power board cheaper price I really do feel they having a laff.. most be some where I could get the Techwood TWP 4205 part .the inside components are Samsungs. its so a shame I have to go through mastercare, they have already taken £120 up front when I asked, before they took my money from my credit card they said "they would give me back at least £70"if i didnt have the repair done" now they don't want to know and it even says on the form. break down on cost that £102 was for the labour of the repair which they have not done. so I don't want to go back to mastercare its not the first time they have ripped me off. just thought id try them and they turned out to be the same from 5 years ago nothings changed with them. seems my only hope is to try Samsung or if any of you good people know of some one or know any website who can get Samsung plasma parts. I would be greatfull for your info. thank you yet again.

Have you got a decent local micro-eletronics specialist? Most towns have one for the hobby community. It should be repairable by someone competent in board level repairs. None of the individual components should be expensive and most would be generic IC's.

Perhaps worth investigating?
