Just been checking and reading up on this brand, apparently its a Samsung.

So far general views on it are pretty good for £2k.

Few questions, - if brought from Currys/Dixons, has anyone taken out the 5 year warranty on it incase it dies after its standard 1yr warranty?, if so how much did it cost?

- Is it progressive scan?

- How many herzt is it, 50/60/100hz?

- NTSC compatible?

- The tuner box, ok this is where all the connections are going in, does it have analogue TV socket to plug in tv aerial, tv boosters etc?

- What is the power consumption for it, is like standard one for any tv sets, 250volts etc?

- When the screen goes, after 30k hrs, is there way to replace/repair it, prices etc?

And finally, what is this dead pixels thing i hear, i only know it is known for TFT screens, but plasmas?

Thanks!

Can't answer all the questions but after 30,000 hours you wouldn't even consider repairing the screen - plasmas will have advanced another generation by then.

IN my experience, Currys/Dixons extended warrantys aren't worth the paper they are written on. Their customer service is bad enough when you're parting with your cash, let alone when they've got your money safely spent!!

- Is it progressive scan - No idea, but there are no component inputs

- NTSC compatible - Yes

- The tuner box, ok this is where all the connections are going in, does it have analogue TV socket to plug in tv aerial, tv boosters etc? - Yes
