Can anyone give me some advice or recommendation on whether to purchase a Modified player from either Techtronics UK or Multiregionmagic.co.uk?

Does anyone out there have experience with either and if so can they recommend one of the two?

If there is another Mod company in the UK out there that some can recommend to me, please, go ahead.

    Thanks,

    Steve

try search and you'll find loads of post sale customer gripes with techronics.
Ian J listed some sites :)

so here's a cut and paste
    http://www.boselectronics.com
    http://www.krishav.co.uk
    http://www.electrocentre.com
    Sound & Vision 01204 861861
    Hifi Confidential 020 7233 7225
    http://www.av4u.co.uk
    http://rgbhifiandvideo.co.uk
    http://www.prcdirect.co.uk
    http://www.hispek.com

    also there's www.linkonline
    www.leconcepts

A good price search engine is www.price-guide.co.uk which lists some modded stuff. Usually best to keep a favourites page on the go and manually run through for deals.

I would highly recommend DVDMagic, both myself & a friend have bought from them, very quick delivery & great mods. Their customer service is fantastic, I called them for advice before their shop opened & got redirected to one of their mobiles, the guy was happy to talk to me while getting to work! They also answer DVD questions via an email reply service to anyone i.e. you dont need to be a customer.

    Have had experience with both.

Techtronics - Left me dangling for two months after I made my order, before contacting me to say they were out of stock. Have never met anyone who was happy with the service they received.

Multiregion Magic - Ordered a modified player for my a Xmas present for my parents on a Wednesday. On Friday it arrived. Plays all discs I throw at it. Great prices too.

    Guess which one I recommend...

In my early days as an apprentice stuntman I was given a choice of two tasks to perform in order to prove my worth. Ordering a dvd player from Techtronics was, in my estimation, far too risky so I decided to lick the exhaust manifold of Michael Schumachers Ferrari F1 car instead. I'm not completely stupid you know.

I'd say www.homecinemaheaven as I've bought Amplifiers and a Pioneer DV-747A without any problems and I've also needed their after sales service aswell when my Amps died. Very quick service for both and with excellent prices partially because they develop their own Multi-region mods. Over at thedvdforums.com there are also specific bargains available including Marantz / Pioneer and Harmon Kardon gear.

I would just like to buck the trend and support Techtronics, but I only live 10 mins away and pick stuff up when I want it.

    Ady;)

Never buy from Craptronics, you'll be sorry when something goes wrong with your player!
