I recently installed a Technomate RF HDMI modulator that takes my sky signal and distributes it around the house.

Prior to this it was done via the rf2 out on the sky box.

Now it's done by intercepting the hdmi input to my tv.

Previously I could tune the remote tv's in to the freeview channels as the sky box was sending a signal.

The Technomate has an rf in to connect a digital aerial. I had an idea that if I connected the now unused rf2out from the sky box to the rf in on the Technomate the sky box would be sending the freeview channels down the coax love it did previously. However none of the tv's tune in.

They are receiving the old analogue signal from the rf2 though.

Am I expecting too much? Have I missed something?

I've solved this.

Turns out I had a clash of frequencies with the modulator and rf2 from the sky box.

Found a clear frequency and all sorted.

HOWEVER...the Technomate is not designed to accept a 9v signal on the RF in.
I have an old ariel in the loft that wasn't in use. I stole the coax from it to use for the distribution to the other tv's in the house!
Luckily the distribution box is right next to the ariel so I bought a splitter and put both the modulator and ariel on the input to the distribution box.

Bingo. Freeview in all rooms as a backup if sky goes down.
