technics sc-ch570 speaker upgrade advice NEWBIE

hi folks
i was just given an old technics sc-ch570 surround system
i dont know much about stereo equipment etc so need some help
it might sound stupid:rolleyes: but i want to replace the rear speakers but instead of being like the fronts were you just strip the wire and stick it in,both + - run to one rca
also the speakers are 4ohm and the ones i want to use are 6ohm
any advice would be great

you need a 2 splitters and 4 rca connectors plugs for the speaker cable which can be gotten at maplins. The splitter must be 2rca female -1 rca male.
As for the ohms difference, i not sure but there's many that do on this forum or try google it.
