I'm gonna regret this but here goes.

    Selling my Technics 1210 MK2

This has been modified to remove the unneeded DJ controls, filled and painted. Really sharpens the look. Fitted a new ortofone 2m blue and it has seen I would say max 100 hours use. Also has a isokinetic platter mat.

I can repaint the deck to your chosen colour if matt white isn't to your liking.

Postage isn't included, I will need to look into insured options.

    Price and currency: £500
Delivery: Delivery cost is not included
    Payment method: PPG BT
    Location: Belfast
    Advertised elsewhere?: Not advertised elsewhere
Prefer goods collected?: I have no preference

Possibly. I got a pair of 1200 MK2 last year, used but in good, original condition, for £600.

Hi. During your modifications did you retain the original cabling?

I removed the pitch fader which plugs into the main pcb and the popup cue light which was a plug also. No soldering if thats what you mean? I think I might still have them both in a box somewhere but you couldn't ever refit them with the filling I've done.

The pitch fader overrides the quartz lock for beatmatching when you are mixing. It serves no purpose when you are using the deck to straight up play records. Same for the cue light, serves no purpose other than to help see when you are cue'ing in a dark environment. Many modification sites recommend removing both anyway if you are using the deck for playing records only as they introduce a small amount of noise.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant the audio output and ground cables. Are these still original or did you upgrade them?

Still original but it was next on my list and I have some quality phono lead and plugs I can include.

Black I can do easily enough but I would need a new top plate to put the pitch control back on. The pitch control is bypassed so the turntable is still quartz locked

it is still here. i'm not sure to be honest, A 1210 is £300+ all day long and the 2m Blue is £200 as well. I don't want to knock a chunk off for you to undercut that again :D There is room for negotiation so where do you see it at?

I understand mate but the lack the pick control is almost the deal breaker here. Can you let me know if you can do 350? I know it might be low, but the player is modified and cant be put back to its original state, which kinda drops its resale value significantly for me as well.

by the way the turn table is 100 hours used and you are the first owner? or did I get it wrong?

The cartridge is approx 100hrs old. The deck itself goes back a bit longer than that. A housemate owned it in college some 15 years ago and I bought it form him back then. He mixed in his room and used it as a record player too.

As for going back to stock you can do this by picking up a top plate off the bay and put the controls I have in a box back in Technics SL1210 Mk2 Turntable Chassis | eBay

I still don't understand why you would want to override the quartz locked pitch contric which is one of the major plus points of a 1200 series technics. Sorry if I'm teaching you how to suck eggs here but it's the same point another member tried to make earlier in the thread.

If you want a stock deck with pitch override for mixing then I can't see why you would want one an audiophile cartridge like this?

The whole point of this turntable is that it removes the unnecessary DJ controls for a cleaner looking record playing turntable.
