Note that this DVD provides the Uncensored and Unrated cut of Team America. It appears that both have almost identical running times, and I believe that the only difference comes from an additional few seconds found in the sex scene between Gary and Lisa. I didnt see the theatrical version, but I believe the main change comes from some extra graphic content; the DVD includes some nasty content that clearly didnt fly with the MPAA. Is it funny? Yup. I wont reveal what happens in the sex scene, but its so over the top that its hilarious. Usually I dont much care for scatological humor, but Police pulls off some gross-out gags. What happens in the sex scene is absurd and that makes it amusing.
The unrated version of the film unseen in the UK takes a work which is already hovering on the edge of acceptability and pushes it over in a scene which will either delight or repel depending on ones sense of humour. The central love scene between two characters will bring joy to the heart of any boy who ever paired his Action Man up with his sisters Sindy doll (not me, obviously), but the unrated version goes a step further. Lets just say that if you think water-sports means canoeing then you might want to think carefully before watching this. The other difference is slightly more graphic violence in a key scene involving a hapless celebrity
