Targa DP-5100x firmware failure

Hi
Is there any way to recover from a failed firmware update on the Targa DP-5100x? Long story short, someone popped the firmware update CD into the player, didn't know what it was and took it out before it completed.

Now when switched on the display says HELLO but the player is unresponsive.

Will it not re-read the firmware flash CD to run through it properly?

It's totally unresponsive. It won't do anything other than switch on and display the HELLO message on the front. Eject does nothing, so can't get a CD in it.

Looks like it is time to phone Targa support and ask them about it. It should still be under guarantee shouldn't it? I am not certain that the guarantee covers this so it might be best to say it has failed on you. That is unless you can find out whether it is actually covered. Look in the Firmwares available from Targa as it might say in the instructions.
