We are currently testing the Tapatalk app with AVForums.
Tapatalk offers several advantages over Forumrunner and we're looking to change platform quite quickly if the testing process goes smoothly.
If you wish to help, please download the free Tapatalk application (available for iOS and Android), search for AVForums and have a play.
    Thanks.

Is it me, or what? I cannot find the free Tapatalk app on the Google Play store for the life of me. There is a Tapatalk £1.99 app but no free one.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

This is great news! I use Tapatalk all the time. One less app is good.

Have to agree on that one. Have checked Google Play and the iOS App Store (have both types of device) and didn't find a free app.

I can see all my posts, but there's no indicator (I think) which shows what threads have had more replies.. in the current app those threads show as bold.

Well Stuart, you said in the opening post that there is a free Tapatalk app on both the iOS and Android platforms but that doesn't seem to be the case at all, or perhaps we're all missing something so, I guess what I'm trying to say is, "help please".

    Cheers,

    Martin.

You've answered your own question, there is no free version.
It used to be, and some places, like GetJar gave it away free(sometimes with timer expiry issues), but now it's £1.99( on Android for example). as Tapatalk 2. is out of beta.

You could try Convo for a free client, see if that works.

As to iOS, I don't do apple, so don't care/have no idea, on that front.

Thanks for that. Don't get me wrong here, the sum of £1.99 isn't worth getting concerned over, it was just the fact that Stuart said it was free and therefore I assumed that perhaps I was missing something. Anyway, I'll leave it for now as I have no use for it other than if AVF changes over.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

I've got the old tapatalk on my iPhone but can see tapatalk 2 is on the App Store for £2.49.

After having a little play with the old tapatalk (not paying £2.49) I prefer the AVF app instead. Had the odd problem on tapatalk (threads I've subscribed too not showing that there are new posts, not showing subscribed threads now and then, quotes in posts not working properly amongst some of the problems) and its quite slow at loading images on threads.

Is the AVF app going to stop being supported (via whoever does it) and it just be tapatalk? Or are they both going to be fine for the foreseeable future?

    Thanks testing now.

Hopefully this is more stable than the avforum app as that crashes all the time.

Despite my whining I've got back to the avforum app.

The tapatalk interface isn't as slick or it may be that I'm used to the AVF app and find it easier to use/navigate.

Which tapatalk are you using? Tapatalk 2 on iPhone is quite snazzy, as is hd on ipad. Had a quick play with foroplex on wp8 the other day and it was excellent

I need some help with this app..

When I'm on the 'Latest' tab the topic list shows a preview of the latest post under each topic title. However, when I'm on the 'Forums' tab the topic list shows a preview of the first post under the titles.

How do I make it so it all shows the latest post? I'm assuming I have missed a setting somewhere.
