    I've a ht setup with 5 tannoy mx-m speakers.
But i haven't enough bass in music.
Now i want to buy a subwoofer not only for HT but also for
    stereo music.
I think the mxsub10 is a good choice because the rest of my speakers are from the same speaker range.
But many peaple said me the tannoy mx-sub haven't enough power. and the bass going not so deep.
I've also the the rel quakeII on my wishlist.

wich one is a better choice for me, Tannoy mxsub or Rel QII?

    my setup:
    -Marantz sr4200 receiver
    -Tannoy mx2-m front.
    -Tannoy mx1-m rear
    -Tannoy mxc-m center

    my room is 3x4 m

I had one and its pretty poor, and suffered from a really audible subsonic humming noise (bad PSU isolation?) that drove me potty once I noticed it.

I went instead for a REL Q50 and couldn't be happier.

Is this the only reason why you don't like the tannoy sub?
maybe you've got a wrong one with humming noise.
    it's not normal for a sub :)

I went through THREE Tannoy subs. before getting a refund! (had 2 MXs and also the Saturn S15)

I think if you do a search Tannoy subs are pretty well known to be noisy, although apparently cutting the earth lead on the cable can help.

I'm a Tannoy fan too (if you look in my sig.) but I'd really recommend you get a sub. from a specialise.

My MxSub 10 performs well with no humming noise at all. Looks like they may have revamped the design.

my old MSub10 had the same humming problem with the stock mains lead but disappeared with a decent one (proof indeed that mains cables work)

if it were my money though- Mordaunt Short 309 no questions asked!!

on the subject of Tannoy subs tho
anyone seen that tasty Dimension TD12 Tannoy sub? 80cm tall and 'only' £4k!!
