I've just recovered my stereo system from my parents - Tannoy Mercury M20 speakers, Rotel integrated amp RA-820B and Sansui CD-X211E (also Denon DRM-400 cassette tape deck!). All sounds great given that they are over 20 years old (CD player a new addition in 1991!) but the tweeter has gone on one of the speakers. Is it going to be worth repairing the speaker (I'd have to pay someone to do this) or just buy a new pair of speakers in the £125-£150 range?
Any advice gratefully received.
