Yes I love the seres an thought the princess was a bit of OK. It use to be shown on the BBC on Monday evenings.

Ah the golden days when they showed programs like this and Rockford Files.

    This rings a bell.

Wasn't that Stephen ("Star Trek The Motion Picture") Collins in a TV attempt at Indiana Jones style goings-on?

    Thats the one.
It was all based on a island in the pacific. Stephen Collins flew a sea plane, and I think the princess was alied to the Japaness.

Yeah this was cool - gotta remember the plane and the dog with the eye patch.

    Quote for the series:

"The adventures of seaplane pilot and soldier of fortune Jake Cutter in the South Pacific of 1938. Jake, a former Flying Tigers pilot, made his home on the island of Boragora along with his one-eyed dog Jack and his mechanic Corky. Other companions were Bon Chance Louie, the local magistrate and owner of the Monkey Bar hangout, Sarah Stickney White, the bar's singer who was actually an American spy, and Dutch minister Willie Tenboom who was actually a German spy. Rounding out the cast of schemers was Princess Kogi, ruler of the nearby island of Matuka, and the samurai warrior Todo who commanded her private army."

Class to watch - had it taped on video and got a mate to put them on DVD - hopefully will come out as a proper release but not sure what other material they would include in any release.

Wow - that was a trip down memory lane!!!

Yeah I remember this too from the dim and distant past.

There was a glut of "adventurer" type series after Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Here's another one... "Bring em Back Alive" - anyone remember that??

I really enjoyed this too, but wasn't it B&W i.e well before raiders of the lost ark. Maybe my memory fails me. Anyway, it was a great show, but no-one I know can remember it. I had a search around the web recently, and it appears that the series was run only once on BBC and they never reshowed it. Shame really.

It was Stephen Collins playing the main lead and was from 1982 - only lasted about 20 episodes really but cheesy nonetheless.

Gotta appreciate John Hillerman's cameo as the nazi killer in the pilot episode (probably better know as Higgins in Magnum)

Wow I remember this as well.

Why is this sort of stuff not re-shown, lets face it there cannot be a shortage of channel air-time

Hadn't realised it had came out but it's a bit pricey at £60 on amazon. Doesn't seem to on amazon.com either - wouldn't be a Uk only release surely?
