Taking car abroad, where to fill with diesel?

We were in France last week, diesel was 0.949 Euro in Normandy. It is more around the ports but much cheaper than the UK.

Unleaded was around 1.25 Euro I think, so a lot more than the UK.

Thanks, all. I see om th enews tonight the prices are rising again.
Still not that bad though as while I was playing with google street view last week I saw an ASDA petrol station with £1.23 for diesel, I'd forgotten it was so crazy a year or so ago!
