I currently have a set of the Sony Pascals (VE705 I think) and am thinking of upgrading my speakers. They need to be small and neat with great sound.

Does anyone know if the 5.2's will be noticeably better than the Pascals (great lookers)?

    Thanks.

The Energy range is leagues ahead of the Sony's. But then, I've never thought Sony Speakers are any good. Sony are not a Loudspeaker manufacturer IMHO ;).

Any idea the best/cheapest place to buy them? Cheers.

Or would the small Boston Acoustics be better still?

The small Boston 5.1 setup got favourable reviews but I've never heard them first hand. I know they will be good for what they are but I don't like their asthetics. I bought the original Energy Take 5 system a while back because I was (and still am :() limited by space contraints.

I have no complaints with them, apart from the sub maybe - but that is always the weakest link on Sub/Sat packages. Best advice is to go demo them yourself and trust your own ears rather than being influenced by price etc.

    :)
