Shame on me for watching it, but last night I watched a 'Gadget Show' (C5) that has been on my Sky+ for a few days....
On it was a 'shoot out' between a Denon virtual surround system £450, a Pioneer all-in-one £330, and "TAG McLaren's ultimate system" at £30,000. This was a Pioneer 656 DVD player, AV192, 3x250r, 5x100r and a set of older style B&W Matrix speakers.....

There were a few moments of advice and comment that bordered on the ridiculous ("the voices had a charcoally quality....").

The upshot of this was that the presenter had trouble telling apart the Denon virtual (2.1) system from the Tag. In the end the Tag pipped it, which showed "you get what you pay for" .

    Anyone else see it?

Yes, there was a bit of a discussion on the first sticky posting on this forum page. Nice that the 30K TAG won....

If anyone hears that this programme is ever to be repeated, could they post the info on the forum ?
I for one missed it - and would like to see it - if only for interest's sake.
    Ta.

I didn't see it, but my girlfriend did. Led to some sticky questions in my house about how much our Tag system cost! I was able to assure her that it most certainly wasn't anywhere near £30K

I automatically deleted it from my Sky+, but knowing Channel 5 it'll be repeated so keep your eye on the late night schedules.....

There's also a thread under the Movies & TV section on it here. The show was pretty diabolical to say the least. It was just garbage. I wouldn't even bother watching it.

Yeah, I stupidly jumped up & down whilst mum & I were watching it - LOOK MUM - TAG MCLAREN - THAT'S WHAT I'VE GOT!!!! I TOLD IT WAS THE BEST GEAR YOU COULD BUY

Mum just went-off on one and told me that I was mad to spend that much money on hi-fi gear :lesson: . Tried to explain that it all cost less than a grand, but she didn't believe me

My good lady deleted it from the Sky+ HD last night  She said that as I'd watched it about a million times she thought I wouldn't want to keep it :nono: Probably had to make room for more crap like Nip/Tuck..... :suicide:

Anyway when it is shown again on UKWhatever I'll be more than happy to record it onto DVD+R or VHS

    Sorry to all
