I am trying to get the best out of my Tag AV32R in stereo and the guy from Tag said I should connect via coaxial cable from CD player to processor. However when I tried with my coaxial Audioquest cable it sounded odd and too clinical.

How man people out there are connecting CD player to processor via coaxial cable? What cable are you using and does it sound better than via analogue inputs?

    Sab,
TAG AV32R and Arcam RingDAC players have pretty different CD sound type.
You can't like both, it is not about cable.

I use an XLO digital cable costing around £200/m here, but I think your comment about the Tag sounding clinical is very valid, and Miron has made a similar point about sound quality....for me,anyway,my other DAC(A Perpetual Technologies P1A/P3A combo)sounds superior in every respect...detail,smoothness,extension etc.....however,it should,as that came to around half the cost of the TAG.

I use a Kimber D60 cable to connect my CDT20 to my AV32 and to my ears it sounds fine.

I also play ALL my 2 channel music with TMS plus sub as I prefer it to plain L+R. The centre channel makes a big impact in my opinion.

I use the tag digital interconnect, and agree with the clinical comments. A bit like Naim and Linn (Tag and Arcam), very different sounding reproduction, you either like one or the other. Ive always been a Naim and Tag fan, but Linn is just too laid back for me.
