Has anyone purchased this DVD. Its supposed to be one of the best war films ever made, see the following review

    http://www.sfweekly.com/listings/film/852/index.html

The problem is that this is being advertised as being only 99 minutes long on both CD wows website and Korean dvds website, whlist the film is meant to be 140 mins long.

Any know whether the dvd sites have the wrong times or has it been cut for DVD release

I think it's likely to be a typo somewhere along the line but it is very confusing. Imd have it as 140mins too but I cannot see any movie having 41 mins cut especially as Korea are supposed to have more stringent censorship than the rest of the world for violence and nudity.
I'll probably invest in a copy from cd-wow:)

The confusion propably is that the movie is divided on to 2 discs with 99 minutes of the movie on the first disc and the rest on the second disc. Many websites seem to be stating only the running time of the first disc.

Probably the best Film i have seen in many a year.

Finally finished watching it tonight. :) Absolutely Fab.

Poo Poos all over Saving Private Ryan, although similar in style.

Non stop action from Planes to hand combat. Brains, arms & legs akimbo. And a great story behind it aswell. Korean movies are taking over the world. I now rarely get the hollywood blockbusters now and go straight to a site in Korea to see their latest Limited Editions which always impress me.

I do usually sell on after viewing but this sit's along side SPR DTS. It's going nowhere.
If you like foriegn films with subs, and also a bit of war.
Buy this dvd now. Highly recommended.

    Jed.

Nearly forgot, get the director's cut from CDWOW (15.99) as it comes with a superb box, calendar, and runs for 150 minutes, 10 minutes more than the standard cut

Fabulous. Don't mind admitting I shed a tear or two.

    A tear or two?

I was crying like a baby by the end of this film. I mean, absolutely balling it.

    Brilliant film everyone should see.

Oh, and a word about the 2-disc R3/korean picture quality - its amazing - Superbit quality IMO.

    Hi,

Saw this last night, well worth getting from cd-wow, R3 cheap.

Great movie, PQ is very good and the sound is awesome. Film is never boring, great effects and explosions work, god making these must be dangerous for the actors. Great atmosphere and emotion.

I usually get my region 3 discs from www.layoyo.com . They usually have english on the menues but not always. I have found the quality to be comparable to their region 1 & 2 counterparts in most cases. Vary rarely do you get a disc that doesn't support english subs but you usually can spot the titles that support english subs from their description.

This movie makes Saving Private Ryan look like a kids movie.

Picture and sound quality are top drawer also :smashin:

No tears from me though(well none that i'd admit to) but it is going to take a bloody good movie to move this from its' my movie of the year status. :)
