Switzerland - Lots of Photos

I was eager to start taking photos, and whilst the airport had nothing immediately obvious to photograph it didn't stop me.

The obligatory try and take a photo out of the window whilst flying..

On the train journey to our destination I took many photos - I didn't expect them to come out very well due to reflection on the glass and well, I was shooting from a train. However this one wasn't bad!

We arrived at Stockli, St Stephan

Here is the chalet

A river runs by it, and when facing towards Zweisimmen this is the view

That very first evening I was still restless wanting to take more photos, so I took a few near the Chalet, late evening.

In the morning, I'd like to say I got up and bright and early. But that would be a lie, the shutters in the bedroom remained closed and it wasn't immediately obvious when it became midday.

I walked to the local bakery, 20min walk or so. Good job I had my camera with me..

After that the rain got quite heavy so we gave up and headed for the nearest train stop!

The following day, we headed in the opposite direction from the Chalet and got to see cows, goats and more cows on our way to Zweissimmen.

36 - Sorry about the crop, the farmer saw me taking photos of his Goats so held on in shot for me, so I had to cut his hand out.

Then at Zweissimmen we got our groceries, not before taking a few more shots.

This is getting exhausting... time to go home!

52 - The glass was patterned, so took this as we were about to get on the plane home.

All kind of makes me wish I had a few more lenses to play with, perhaps a wide angle! I made do with a 30mm 1.4 Sigma and a 105mm 2.8 Macro Sigma

in regards to number 7 and 21. how did you apply that colour effect?

fantastic photo's all around. what gear did you use?

Thanks!

Any post processing is lightroom 3.x, #7 uses a saved preset called "Color Creative - Aged Photo", #21 is as is - no effect.

Alpha 580
Sigma Ex 30mm 1.4 for most of the shots
Sigma 105mm 2.8 Macro for a few of them

Very nice sets - I particularly like the "pespective" type shots and quite a few of your close-up shots with nice DOF use but some need a bit more attention to framing/cropping/clipping - and I'm not talking about the goat shots :D

Lovely colours too

Jim
