Switching to 1080 menu with amstrad HD and panasonic

has anyone has the problem where the sky hd is in standby but the panasonic TV is on and watching normal channels and the 1080 menu comes up, its as though the amstrad is sending a signal for auto switch down the HDMI. Box is new is this a fault? anyone had this problem?

Try using hdmi2 rather than hdmi1

Is your problem similar to this on the link below ? My amstrad box was changed recently to a samsung because of this issue, ive never had a problem since.

thanks for that reply, now you have swapped to a samsung how does it compare to the amstrad in other ways? I have heard the remote can be a prob with samsungs and how does the speed of the menus and the HD and SD picture compare? I am happy with my amstrad apart from this problem and the lip sync p[rob on HD channels...have you had that one?

The Samsung is head and shoulders above the Amstrad in my opinion, the contrast works on the Samsung where as it doesn`t on the Amstrad, the SD picture is miles better in the Samsung compared to the Amstrad and the EPG seems faster on the Samsung.

The Samsung is whisper quiet just like the Amstrad, ive had no problems with the remote on the Samsung.

Yeh its a new Samsung, model number 0.7.070 version number 973008. I`m using it with a Panasonic 42PZ70 Viera, ive not noticed any Lyp Sinc.
