Advice from any Sammy SP46L6HX owners please.
When switching off the for the night i put the set into standby mode, I can hear the fan still running for a few minutes then it stops, normal I think.
Should i then wait for the fan to stop running, and then turn the main power switch to off, or is OK to leave in in standby until it's switched on again next day.
When going away for a few days I always turn the main power switch to off.

    Cambo.

it is fine if you leave the set on standby for the night as i do this. If you are going away for a long period of time i.e holiday etc then it is recommended you switch it off from the mains. It is also normal to hear the fan for a few minutes after you switch of the set as its cooling down the bulb inside your samsung. :)

I just turn mine off at the side switch. I also strangely enjoy hearing my "diddle dee" on start up.

    :)

The "diddle dee" annoys me an irrational amount :) thankfully it can be turned off.

Do you wait for the fan to stop before you switch set off at side switch, because if you don't surely the lamp will still be hot.

Not recommended to switch off at the main switch until the set does its cool down cycle.

Always let the fan cool down cycle complete before switching off at the red side switch.

NEVER attempt to move the set while the bulb is still hot!

However I think it is less stressful on the electronics to use standby mode for day to day use, only switching off at the power switch and / or mains when not using the set for long periods of time.
