Sites up with an ordering section.
I would have already bought myself one with a scart to 3 phono and minidin lead but they are using Paypal . This complicates things for me as I have an old paypal account which I used about twice 3 years ago and now I have to go through all the hassle or rehashing my account.

Ditto the paypal thing. Nochex at least please!

I see john ad has some review quotes on the website - feedback? :)

How do the 878 and the Phillips (SA something, cant remeber number) intergrate? I thought the cap cards only need one or t'other?

    878 purely for PDI?

I've got an early revision test card that is now my primary card, replacing the holo3d and an xcapture. I'm not usually the best person to ask about PQ as I tend to be mostly on the look out for artefacts but it looks very good to me.

The phillips saa7118 chip decodes any analog video and passes it digitally (like PDI) to the bt878 chip which puts it into the PC's memory, if set up properly (and the software may not do this at the moment) the signal will not be changed at all by the bt878 chip and you should get the output of the saa7118 or PDI into DScaler. The reason I think these two are are best chips for Dscaler is mostly down the ability to set the bt878 for passthrough and publically availiable comprehensive datasheets.

    Hi all
If you would like to pay by bank transfer, then please email us at sweetspot@pluggedin.tv and we'll do everything we can to get your card out to you before Christmas.
If you would like to pay be good old cheque then we're happy to do that too but it may be a little late to get clearance in time for Christmas. Again, drop us an email and we'll do our best.

    Thanks
    Alex Simon

I dislike PayPal with a vengeance due to their past behaviour .. I wish people wouldn't use them. :(

Never had a problem with Paypal myself but agree, direct credit card payment is preferable.

Nochex is useless for non UK debit account holders (ie. me).

Looking forward to RGB capture with Dscaler :)

Anone got one yet? I'm particularly interested in th PQ thro' SVideo. I've already got Component capture via my Holograph so not interested today in component capture, I want to know if the quality of the Sweetspot capture is significantly better than the FlyVideo card on Svid, if so I'd replace it in HCPC2

    Thanks
    Steve

Problem ordering if one wants to avoid paying by PayPal .. the oerding page doesn't total the order, add VAT and shipping, this only seems to happen once you've given your detailsto PayPal, which I have no intentions of doing.

How do I overcome this?

They refused to refund the money they withdrew from my credit card account, I missed the statement with the activation code but their attitude was 'tough' .. IOW they stole money from me, only $1.50 IIRC but the principle is what matters.

That's why you should have pre-registered :D They had a banner add up top here for some time announcing this.

They must be up to their eyes right now launching so close to Christmas.

Obviously priority should be given to those who pre-registered so...........

I understand if they pre-ordered, but not pre-registered, that doesn't sound right to my mind.

    Wow, temperatures are rising!

    Kragorn
The good news is that the VAT and shipping is included in the prices shown, of course if you don’t order via PayPal then it is more time consuming for us to handle as we have to manually process everything, which we are happy to do, its just slower thats all!

Hopefully you have had the email now with the bank details on it, let us know if there is anything else you need.

Also just to be clear for anyone skim reading this thread , the $1.50 that Kragorn is referring to re PayPal is nothing to do with any transaction involving pluggedin.tv and SweetSpot !!

    Madders
We are sorry about stopping you from ordering right now, we feel it is fair to the people that pre-registered from October to give them priority access to the stock for a 1 week period, before opening up the ordering process to everyone else.
As you can imagine it is a real juggling act to try and keep everyone happy, and we have already stated that you can go on the list for any remaining stock after the pre-registered customers have had time to place their orders.

We also understand that pre-registration is not the same as pre-ordering, but the last thing we wanted to do was to start collecting payments until we could be very confident about the delivery dates, hence a free, no commitment pre-registration system to keep everyone that is interested in the product fully up to date.

Hopefully that’s cleared up any confusion – any questions then drop us a line !

    Thanks for listening :)

    E-mail received, cheers.

And yes, the $1.50 was a long time ago when I tried to set up a PayPal account, nothing whatsoever to do with Sweetspot.

    SCART->RGB didn't. :thumbsdow

Can't test the card without being able to inject signals. :nono:

    From my e-mail order:

"Okay, I've just set up a payment for £298 to your bank account for a
    Sweetspot + X-Card + SCART->RGB cable."

    Hi KraGorn
I am not sure if you are having problems with your email, we sent you a message within 12 minutes of your email sent to us reporting the missing item, offering to either Special Delivery the cable to you for tomorrow morning or to have it driven to your office this lunch time.

We havent heard from you yet (hence the posting here) and it has been over 1 hour now - please confirm what you would like to do ASAP!!

    regards

The e-mail was sent from my system at home which I only log into from work occasionaly, hence I've only just seen it and have now replied, though it's probably too late now.

I'm not in the office tomorrow so delivery here wouldn't have been practical even if I had seen your first reply in time.

Having had a bit of a tantrum earlier, it's only fair to report that David just drove over from Macclesfield, a distance of several miles, to deliver the missing cable to allow me to play with the card over the holiday.

Thanks a lot, can't ask for better service than that. :smashin:
