After struggling with software encoding with my SweetSpot I have come to the conclusion that the poor thing can only capture fast enough to hard drive at little or no compression which makes the files too large.

Since the SweetSpot is the only card at a sane price that allows quality signal capture of component or RGB SCART why can't the SweetSpot bods jump the final hurdle and add on *hardware* encoding ?

Couldn't they make a sidecard that attaches to the PDI port on the SweetSpot that then takes the signal and does a fast *hardware* MPEG2 encode and plop it on your harddrive ? Or is the PDI only an input to SweetSpot ?

Would anyone else want such an add-on ?

Or anyone, all we need is an add on mpeg2 card that can take the input from the sweetspot via pci and encode it and for about £70 as well, any more and its too much.
