    Hi all

Just got back from my hoildays....went to Orlando DisneyWorld.....What a fantastic magical place....highly recommended it to everyone (with or without kids)

Very hot there so i spent some of the time sunbathing (not that i really need a tan) and some of the time walking around the theme parks and participating in the mad rides they have out there.

But you will be pleased to know that i spent MOST of the time taking photos....:D

Here's just some of the photo's i took.. i will post more soon.....

    1. MGM studio

fantastic simulation ride....took me to the moon and back :D

    More to follow......

Whilst I was out there i experimented around with water shots....trying to get that soft silky look that you all are good at posting
    What do you think

    Nice bunch of pics

Agree with wobblebottom that the epcot one is probably my fav, sharp and nice composition. Looks a fantastic place to go, one day.....

Water shot is nice, i'd try a slightly longer shutter speed to get it that little bit more silky looking

Going to have a look at your flickr now

Looks like a fun trip. Did they have any camera shops there??

I like the Epcot one as well - quite minimalist and the lonely cloud makes it I think. Those rides look pretty awesome, and it doesn't look too busy either.

WOW! Amazing set of photos you have there, even more great pics on your flickr. I only wish I had your camera and could take pics like you do!

My favourite has to be the MGM studio outside pic or the one with the ship at Epcot.

Great shots, The Epcot dome is so sharp it almost looks like a rendering.
Disney world Paris is as far as I got and that was fun so Orlando must be mad for a big kid like me :D

Love the 2nd one and the Epcot shot. I was there a few years back but all of the pictures I took (with a old P&S) were lost :( It is a great place but very tiring!!

Looks like you metered off the bottom of the hat in the first which is why you have lost all the clouds :(

    Great photos Sweet.
Looks like yo uhad a good time.
Me and the Family went there in Feb. We had a great time. Not too hot but still got a tan and it was not during the school holidays so the queues were quite short (some even non existent like on the Areosmith ride, did that 4 times within half hour).

I came back with over 1000 pics. Was going to take all my gear but ended up buying a 17-55IS and just taking that and my 50f/1.4 that didnt get used much.

Hope to go again in a year or so. Florida is such a great place for taking photos whether you go to the parks or not. and the great weather helps.

Did you go in it? It felt like a very old ride. Nice to get out of the sun but very uncomfortable IMO.

    Hi Tobers
No camera shops just Mickey Mouse stuff :rotfl:

The rides were awesome and unbelieveable at the same time...took my breath away :).
Because we stayed in the Disney complex we were privialiged to enter the park one hour earlier than the public....got to go on all the super duper rides first before it got busy....

Thanks for your kind comments on my photograph.

Nice shots Sweetgirl, I like the sunset one best.

Did you buy any kit over there? I have just been to San Diego and Las Vegas and with such a good exchange rate there were some good deals to be had.

    Regards

    John

Great Pics, Anita, Not unexpected from you now, I have to say! Colours, Exposure ,composition (framing) are largely spot on: You are truly this forums "advert" for the D40x:) ( Just kidding ...I imagine youll do fine with just about any camera)

I hope you remembered to actually have fun while clicking away:D

If you ever go to California, you could do Universal Studios ect in LA, and down to Orange County (Anahiem ) and try the very (first) original Disneyland there; San Diego is also great
My Family were there ( and up in 'Frisco ): I was working ( in Wexham Park !) for 3 weeks last month
But from childhood and previous visits I assure you Photo opportunities abound everywhere

Going without the "Sweet" Kids.. ( if you wont miss them too much) can be refreshing and a chance to stop being a parent for a while

    Some nice shots Sweets.

I really like the second MGM studios shot - has a surreal quality to it - almost like an architects visualisation drawing.

The Epcot one is also very nice - smack on exposure.

I can't beleive the buildings in #2 are real either?! I want a picture of you hanging out the windows of one of them to prove to me they are. (there's a good excuse to go back!!)

Epcot one would have to be my fav aswell. Everything about is just so 'crisp'
