I would like to hear what resolutions and ref.freq. have you find to work really well with a Barco D 808 S with a HTPC front end.

    Is your preference higher resolution with a lower fef.freq or vice versa, f.ex for PAL 1440 x 1152 @ 50Hz or 1440 x 864@ 75 Hz.

As I watch both PAL and NTSC DVD´s, should I use different settings for PAL and NTSC and how about Film/Video ?

For PAL DVD I'd go for 75Hz refresh. For NTSC, 72 Hz. Software playback using ReClock, so you can get the frame rates right. 48 Hz too flickery (and not good for PAL DVD which is 25 fps).

Shoving test cards up on my BD801s shows that it resolves clearly 768 lines (4:3), and 960 lines (same ratio) are visible but greying. 1152 lines grey out.

I would agree that 75 Hz is definitely the way to go for PAL, haven´t yet to test NTSC. :smashin:

    Since PAL is 720 x 576 = 1.25 but on the other hand 4:3 = 1.3333 and 16:9 = 1.7778.

So when I watch a 4:3 full frame material should I use 1.25 or 1.3333 "ratio resolution", f.ex 1080 x 864 or 1152 X 864. Or is it at all necessary to use either of those "ratio resolutions", perhaps 1440 x 864 could outperfom either of those.
