Well I finally went and did it. I sold my Mission M72 cinema set to fellow AV forumer Sick Boy (long standing friend) and bought the Sony 835's for a lot less than £200.00

My reason for doing so? Rented accommodation. Couldn’t justify drilling holes all over my landlord’s walls to fix up the Mission centre and rears so I decided to down size to some stand mounted satellites and a sub (already sold my Rel Quake).

Overall, I am impressed. Definitely less musical than the Missions but that stands to reason. However, with 5.1 and DTS material they are superb. Crystal clear sound with crisp effects and steering. In effect, glad to have a surround sound set up again. Black Hawk Down sounds superb. Getting used to how they handle music too. It seems to be all about the set up.

Sad to see the Mission set go as they really are superb speakers but hey, everything in life has a beginning, middle and an end.

The Sony set has had have had indifferent reviews on here but I think that they work for me right now. Lovely.

    Cap :)

Yep, thats the one. Actually, do you know what I shold cross them over at. I thought about going down to 80hz but at the mo they are set at 120hz which I suspect is about right. I have the sub high cut off at 150hz.

    Thanks,

    Cap :)

Hey, what a plonker I am.

I thought the 835's sounded quiet when compared to the Missions.

Only yesterday did I realise that I had pressed night mode on my amp........ha ha.

Now they really do GO LOUD.

    Cap :)
