Swap out hdd for a bigger one

I all can I simply take the cover off my sky + and sky + HD boxes and change the hdd's for bigger and better sized discs and then download new sw ?

Thanks for that, and there is a lot of detail about your requirement.
The first thing in these enquiries is usually to ask you what model your machine is, as the answer depends to some extent on that.
