I have a complex room shape and don't want the L. & R channels right next to the doors. The rears I was think to mount above the door and near the window, See below

These speakers seam the best options as Kef surround don't recommend being mounted near the ceiling or back wall. They will be slight high and at 90 degrees , so not quite what dolby recommend, but I am think the. best option. The front Being Kef R700 & centre

I am trying to solve this issue of the L & R rear rather than Atmos?

If you"re only planning on ever having a 5.1 configuration then the L & R Surrounds will be fine up above the doors.

If you're planning to move to an Atmos configuration then you'll need to put them somewhere else. I'd put them lower down on the rear wall and slightly inwards to avoid the door.

Ok thanks, that is a good point. I will try them in both locates and temp. mount them and see what I think.

I know, thats why I suggested your location would be ok providing you didn’t have Atmos on or in the ceiling. If you did, having the Surrounds so high up wouldn’t work.
