Got fronts KEF Reference 203's and 202c, surrounds Q4 floorstanders, slightly raised to ear level.
Can anyone explain why the surrounds must sit 50cm above listening level?
Thanks

Pat,

The theory behind having the surround channels at higher than ear height is that it helps to provide a more diffused rear soundfield, i.e your ears think that there is a wall of sound behind you and not just two speakers at a specific point.

Thanks for your replies, guys
Just bought some nice Partington (Dynaudio) stands on German Ebay for little money, so I can experiment!

Which reminds me, I got some unused Q2DS dipoles I was going to flog, would it make any sense to use these in my room of 3x4m ?
Shame it's so cumbersome to try them out...
