surround speaker debate

    For my 16' (4.87m) wide by 23' (7m) deep room would side surround and rear surround monopole or dipole speakers be a better choice. The system is EX/ES 6.1 or 7.1 and will be strictly for movies. Room sketch is attached.

    If you have a Denon amp/receiver why not have both Dipole and Monopole speakers.

    Have the Dipoles as Surround A directly either side of your listening position with the Monopoles as Surround B just behind the listening position and angled in.

    Then just switch between the two types to whichever suits your mood.

    You´ll still have the Surround Backs behind you.

    Obviously this will incur extra cost but will give you the most flexibility for movies, music etc etc
