I'm getting ready to plumb my Jamos in and obviously I need speaker cables.

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to speakers and cabling, so I'd welcome any advice on suppliers/makes/costs etc etc.

    Cheers.

I would go with Van Damme as they dont rip you off.

Dont get sucked into expensive cabling. Make your mind up yourself, some people believe there is no difference and others believe there is. Personally tested QED Silver Aniversary against the Van Damme and they sound identical on my setup. The QED is certainly not brighter.

    I would agree with chamill.

As far as audible effect is concerned, the only relevant electrical parameter for loudspeaker cables is their resistance. As a “rule of thumb” the total resistance of the cable wire should not exceed about 5% of the nominal impedance of the loudspeaker. That’s 0.4 ohms for an 8 ohm loudspeaker. Adherence to this resistance limit should ensure that the inevitable variations in loudspeaker impedance with frequency do not audibly affect the amplitude-versus-frequency response of the loudspeaker. This assumes that the power amplifier driving the loudspeaker has near zero output impedance.

Silver plating of the wire, etc. can have absolutely no real (as opposed to imagined) audible effect.

Thanks folks, I've ordered Van-Damme using the link above.
