That's exactly the same layout as my lounge. I put the sub behind the tv, the front and surround speakers just in front and to the side of it and the rear surrounds either side of the sofa on the left, which is the main one in my lounge. That's the one I use for tv watching. If you do the same, whoever sits on there will have the proper surround effect. Anyone sitting on the other will still hear the tv. Depends on which sofa is your favourite.

    Hi there,

I wish I could give you a great layout for the speakers with that room configuration but with that lounge (from what I can see) I'd definitely be inclined to rearrange. Something like the attached image.

Speakers in red, TV solid black. It's just a rough configuration of course, the sizes will be all wrong but that's how I'd have it I think. The rear speakers right in the back corners would be best but I don't know how attached to that corner unit you are hehe. Rear speakers aimed at the sofa opposite the TV.

    Hope this helps!

    @ swiftpete

tbh mate the one we use the most is the one on the right (thats a three seater, the others only a two), so would probably try to the rears around that sofa

only problem there is the door on the right, running wires

    @ grr, argh

thanks for taking the time to show me your idea pictorially

the problem is where i took the picture from is a big alcove so the two seater would just be placed in the middle of the room.

i asked if i could put the two seater in front of the window, the boss didn't like that!!!!!

You could run the cables over the top of the window behind the curtain rail. You can get slimline white cable that wouldn't really show up too much against the walls. Or I saw this hollow trunking stuff on ebay the other day that lets you put the cables inside it to hide it.

Or under the carpet? That'd probably be the tidiest way.
