Hi

I cant seem to get any sound on my surround sound from the TV to the DVD System.

I have Panasonic Plasma 50' S10 with a Sony DVD Home Cinema System DAVDZ680W on the Virgin V+.

The sound used to work but all off a sudden, it wont have any sound. It still works on the DVDS and Tuner.

The connection from TV to the Home System is by HDMI cable and Optical Audio.

I was looking forward to watching the England game on Surround. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

ps. Ive checked all connections are fine.

Have you tried a different optical lead?
Can you see a red glow at the TVs optical out port?

Thanks for your help. :smashin:

I have checked that there is a red glow.

I have not tried with a new optical cable but is this necessary considering that the DVD works fine on all speakers?

The DVD player is built-in to the surround sound system and is internally wired to it.
The V+ uses the optical lead to give you surround sound, you need to establish that the lead is okay before you suspect anything else.
