surround back output, onkyo 509

    It's for the extra speakers in a 7.1 configuration over a 5.1.

    so could i change my current 5.1 to 7.1 using this output??? if so, how??? Would i need 2 speker cables that has an audio jack on one end???

    By buying an extra 2 speakers and connecting them to the outputs.
    The benefits of 7.1 over 5.1 will depend on your room layout and ability to get the speakers in the correct positions. There are also not that many 7.1 blurays either so most of the time you will be listening to pseudo 7.1.

    thanks pms1, i dont think i'll bother, spent most of yesterday evining wiring, sort of lost my mojo!!! The box's i made so i cn change speaker over from 1 am to another works a treat! Thinking off adding a sub to the mix now, whats best in the £200 price range for both low end and punchy??

    Will be hard to beat a BK Electronics Gemini II for just over £200. A little less than that but not quite as good would be the Wharfedale SW150 from Superfi for £180.

    i take it i cannot have this running off my Marantz PM6004 for music as there is no sub connection on the amp?
