simple answer... with that sized screen (and even bigger like 28" and 32" TVs) no you won't see a difference.

Yea you need a top notch dvd and display for it to be worth it , even then there isnt a huge difference , the few I have are a definate improvement though and DTS is nice .

do a search on superbit, there's at least one other thread on this with links to A/B comparisons of the fifth element superbit and normal vanilla. There is definitely more detail on superbit you just have to have the right equipment to show it. hmmm das boot. tempted!

    Edited due to idiotic comments.

What I should of written was

I do not think you would see a difference from the normal version and the superbit discs. You would need to have a bigger screen. It really shows up when you get to projection size and would be worth the investment then. I have got a couple of these discs and they are stunning on a larger screen compared to the normal version. The difference on my TV is not so much apparent.

Unless of course you intend to get a projection system in the future then you would not have to buy them again if you so desire.

I bet there's no difference between a superbit title and a 2-disk SE where the movie is on a disk on its own, apart from the higher price charged for the former.

    Hi,

Sadly the "Das Boot: Director's Cut" Superbit release, will be split over 2 discs.

I would have bought that one title on Superbit, but I'm not too keen on having to switch discs halfway through the film, even if it is some 3hrs 40m long, and with a DTS soundtrack.

i find your comments to be in slightly bad taste rigman.
Has no one told you size isnt everything.
So there it then i dont need to waste money on superbit as it wont make a difference.
The reason i asked is i wanted to know what differance if any i would see before spending £20 on a film i already have or could by for under £10 as you see i dont have very much money and want to be carefull with what i have. James45 thankyou for your reply.

my humble apologies. Next time I have too many over the eight and just been given bad news I will avoid going on this forum. I have just been cringing at what I wrote and the slagging off I have received from you all is very well deserved.

    Apology accepted rigman.
Hope the news wasn't too bad.
    Watch it Bob:rolleyes:
Besides whats wrong with a 21" Sony only 30% less area than a 32" And when you live in an 8' by 6' room you dont have space for much else.
