Well chuffed with the picture from Momitsu V880 to my TW100 via DVI, but I want more. :D

My guess would be some superbit titles, but which region ?

Region 2 has a theorectically higher resolution, 576 lines, but does it scale up to 720p better than a region 1 (480 upto 720p).

I ask because I see a better picture from my region 1 Toy Story 2 than my region 2 Monsters Inc.

    Anyone with any opinions?

    Cheers.

My guess is it depends upon the quality of the scaler. I'm guessing that most scalers will find it easier to scale 480 to 720 (1.5x) than 576 to 720 so that may be why you feel R1 is better. IT also, of course, depeneds on the quality of the transfer and encoding.

Many SB titles are way better but some aren't so. Depends very much on the original non SB transfer quality. Gladiator for instance is not so noticeable as say Fifth Element so it's probably worth doing some reading before parting with the readies.

The next big step of course will be a HTPC :) but that's a fair bit of effort. Certainly more than sticking a SB DVD in the V880 tray :D

Found a review of suberbit and the benefits over the normal version looking at the increase in data transfer. He also discusses NTSC vs PAL, DD vs DTS (appears to be a writer for a HT mag) Really interesting reading.

Yeah. More than region 1 I think. There are a few that aren't out on region 1 too, like Godzilla.

Thanks all. MIB superbit is on it's way to me as I type.

    Only £10 each too. Bargain.

    Hi keyser,

www.play.com have 31 titles listed and all are at £9.99 including delivery. I hope they ship to Iceland! ;)
