Are they are as super as the title on the front of them makes them out to be??

I believe that there are no extras, just the whole disk devoted to the film!!!

Does this mean that we get superior imagery and DD/DTS audio?

    L8R,

    POB.

I've got Das Boot Superbit. It has DD & dts (watched in German dts) The normal version has commentry (DD only though)- not bothered that the Superbit looses this

    It's soopa :)

Haven't compared the picture- but I've seen a couple of snapshots (try a google search on Das Boot Superbit review) and does seem to have a lower compression, therefore more detail.

I got bad Boys Super Bit, the picture on that's nearlythe same as on the Collectors edition. But the DTS made me buy it.

The Bargain Forum suggests several people on these forums have just bought R3 Superbits from CDWow.
Can they tell me if the R3 editions have got any English writing on the covers and DVD menus or is it all guess work in the face of 100% Mandarin?

Hi. I have a few R3 Superbits - Black Hawk Down, Das Boot, Fifth Element, MIB, The Patriot, Vertical Limit and XxX. All of them have English writing only on the covers (back, front and inlays) and on the discs themselves. Menus are also in English.

I think I'm right in saying they're identical to R1 releases.

I would say as a rule (imo) that superbit titles always have better sound but don't always have a better picture. With that said, comparing my R2 gladiator to my R2 superbit gladiator and it is clear that the superbit version is better.

I done a comparison of the original Bad Boys DVD and the collectors edition DVD and found the former to have a better picture (In the first few minutes of the Collectors edition you can see a lot of noise which is not there on the orginal edition).
The original doesn't have as many features but it deinately looks better. Has anyone else come across this?

Have to disagree here, the superbit Gladiator is a nonsense. Soundtrack is identical, and the picture is the same also (on the original, most of the extras are on the 2nd disc anyway).
