I seem to remember thinking this was ace when I saw it as a kid. Was I misguided or is it really as bad as people say?
I'm puzzled as it's coming out on disc soon, it's mightily cheap (£6.99 R1 @ Play) and the temptation's grabbed me, although I don't think I've seen it since the one and only time at the local fleapit a loooooooong time ago.

Nostalgia can play some nasty tricks, given the chance. Will buying this get me bitchslapped by my lady and everyone else that sees it on my shelf? I'm not sure I can trust my own judgement on this

Truly one of the most underated films ever made, it was also incredibly faithfull to the game. Bob Hoskins has never been cast so well IMO, saw it 10 times at the cinema and queue'd for the video release, highly recommended.

I was mocking it. I saw it a while ago, and it was pants. And the Double Dragon film has that cadger from Party Of Five in it, and that is poop!

Now I have seen this movie once before, and I remember it was quite bizarre having Dennis Hopper as Bowser or whatever his name was.

    Better than Mortal kombat anyway.

Did you really believe me Rambo, I thought people would see I was kidding by the exagerated praise I was heaping upon that howler of a movie

Back to the sarcasm drawing board it would seem :)

I knew it might not be a good idea posting this thread.

Now I know it has no friends here I'd better get my order in.:p

I bet Squirrel God buys it anyway, given that it's a DVD and there's always room for one more on the shelf:D

Mario Bros. kicked serious ass. Buy it Rambo. I thought it was cool, except for one thing: all the guns that the koopa's used were SuperScopes (remember the bazooka that you could get for the SNES) spraypainted silver. Only qualm.

Dennis Hopper has fun as the villain ("Where's my pizza?") and IMO the whole film is worth watching for the line "Put on your belt, kid. We're going in."
