The scene when Coogan came back from the betting shop and met his father in the hallway was quite moving, it felt very real, Coogan is showing he really can act in this but equally there is flexiblity in the role so he can do the stuff we know him well for.
I think this is a littler overlooked goodie, shame more people are not sussing it.
With Craig Cash writing, directing and appearing in it, it has a huge feel of Early Doors. It has several actors from Doors and some of them playing the same parts including Cash.
I happened upon this in iPlayer, nothing particularly original but warm and good natured banter wrapped around a fairly sad story. I guess I won't be the only one interested to see if they'll go for a heart warming or tragic ending, either way, I'm glad I stumbled across it.
