Go easy - first attempt with new D40:D The first outing for the new d40 and only my 13th shot with it.

Taken down my local beach. Bascially looking through the circular (round) drainage pipe that lets water run off the prom onto the beach into the sunset in the distance.

Though it was quite nice to make the round pipe the focal point.

No post shot changes (as i can't work photoshop that well yet!!) Think i have attached it ok.

I really like this, nice viewpoint (though the horizon isn't level which doesn't help) Nice idea!

clever idea...I like the shallow Dof bring attention to the "round pipe"

I find myself wondering if a smaller aperture might have been better..to bring the actual sunset into focus as well.

    nice though

Good photo, I like the way the sunlight brings out the texture of the pipe.

Liking this one mate, lovely colours and very sharp texture in the pipe.

    A very good start :)
