Sunplus players

    You don't hear much about sunplus based players. They seemed to occupy 2nd place after Mediatek for sales nowadays. They are unique I think in that the main risc core is Mips based rather than ARM based. The deinterlacer is licensed from silicon image (I.e. quite good).

    The company used to make most of its money from selling speech chips for teddy bears and toy robots etc but has moved from its toy origins into DVD/Multimedia SOC chips as well.

    Its latest chip is divx compatible and also has usb connectivity.

    Also many of the dvd players have games functionality like the model sold by code junkies which is sunplus based.

    Anyone seen any reviews of models based on their chipsets on their web travels? I'm curious about how the picture quality compares to other chipsets?
