Can anyone tell me a bit about this DVD player please, it plays divx files, but how good is it and can it play xvid files etc. The progressive scan interests me as my current dvd player does not seem to have it. any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Sounds like you've not selected the downmix facility. How are you connecting the dvd player to your sound system? If you only have basic stereo sound you need to ensure that the 5.1 sound is being downmixed to stereo.
What audio outputs are on the back of the player? Which are you using and connected to what?
