All the kids round my way seem to love trampolines.

i dont have a big garden but my little one loves tramploines she has one at grandmas
for the adults if it is warm enough a few super soakers are quality fun

Some female topless garden toys wouldn't go amiss...... :smashin:

Trampolines are great.I picked one up at B&Q,14' for £40...how they make them for this price is beyond me,the metal scrap value must be close to that.

Superb quality too.

12' trampoline for £110 delivered at Ebuyer

(I have one being delivered sometime this aft)

TRAMPOLINE = ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN (just my opinion)
Especially TRAMPOLINE + ADULTS + BEER

You can get them with a net around to stop kids falling off and breaking their necks.

Sorry to sound like a party pooper but monitoring a large group on a trampoline is going to be a full time job for the adults - as per bouncy castles (you really don't want this to happen: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/7360948.stm ). Apparently the lad has won his case.

Stick with badminton :)

Actually a badminton set is a great idea - its cheap and it's great fun for adults and kids, and is pretty safe - no chance (much) of broken windows. Or boules which can be played on any old bit of gravel/lawn etc.

I dread the warm weather, for me it just means that the noisy gits over the back from me will have their windows open and their "music" will be audible for the whole town to hear, which spoils everyone else's enjoyment of the warm weather.
Bah humbug !

I can remember going to an adult party about 5 years ago. (Was 20 at the time)
They had a bouncy castle and the amount of blood soaked noses that came off it was funny. (All accidents of course).
After a few hours later I thought id have a go myself  They decided to push me over the back on the bouncy castle and I landed on concrete flat on my back. It winded me
that bad I thought I'd snapped my spine.
Never again :nono:

And if you've seen the news today, then you'll stay away from hiring/buying a trampoline or bouncy castle.Home owners sued by parents of boy,who was kicked in the head and left disabled, whilst using one of the above, for £1,000,000.

Mine arrived and I just put it up ..... it's massive
(I did pay £130 for the net as well)

I need a lie down now, I had to have a good bounce ... but it was only meant for the kids, honest.

Those garden jenga sets look like fun but I suppose that they could be dangerous to small kids.

I can remember making these as a kid, used to work on a horse farm at one point in my youth and the farm had roles and roles of polythene kicking around. Waited until the boss was away , rolled out the poly and turned the hosepipe on them - Good Stuff - ahhh the good ol' days.

How about this BTW, seems like perfect hot weather entertainment..

Rob, judging by the posts on this thread indicating that your party will turn into a bloodbath where you will face a court case which will end up costing you millions, then I would suggest that you cancel the party, stay in all day with Julie and the kids, drink some warm milk, and have a good old fashioned singalong with the family - CLICKY

If you do decide to ignore my advice and go ahead with the barbecue then please remember the potential risks involved :

  • Never use petrol to light the barbecue
  • Do not let small children near the barbecue
  • Always ensure that all meat is thoroughly cooked - place a skewer through the meat and ensure the juices run clear
  • Do not use the barbecue to light cigarettes or "spliffs"
  • Do not use drugs or alcohol whilst in charge of the barbecue
  • Ensure that vegetarian food is cooked on a separate barbecue to avoid cross-contamination, and finally
  • Prior to the commencement of the barbecue, ensure that you have arranged a visit from a local fire safety officer to ensure that the barbecue party runs smoothly

I know that the whole point of these so-called parties is to have fun, but safety comes first Rob...so think on before you suggest these type of shennanigans again :D

In my case a Trampoline was an accident that did happen. I failed the final manoeuvre of a big jump to the ground and ended up with a broken arm! I'd advise the little ones to climb off, or at least have an adult ready to "catch".

If you have a larger garden these things are astonishing. I bought four of them, put my mobile number on them, as they seemed very prone to flying high up into trees! :D

Depending on the age of the kids, (or how much beer the adults have :smashin:) the pop up tent & tunnel things you can get have always been mega popular with my kids & their mates - this type of thing - and adults can never resist a crawl through! We don't have that particular item, but we have a few different tents & tunnels, to make a 'course' as such.

And it also has the added benefit of providing a bit of shade when required - in light of some of the posts here, this may prevent you getting sued for failing to provide adequate shelter etc :smashin:

Woody... tut, tut... you forgot to mention doing a risk assessment prior to commencement of the activities. And making sure everyone has a hi-vis jacket.

And wouldn't a trampoline come under the 'working at height' regulations?

:D
